There is no charge to you so order your place early to avoid disappointment. There are two pick up points, they being NORSEMEN FC (Edmonton Sports Club), Church Street, N9 9HL leaving at 8.00am and the second point is Furzefield Sports Centre, Potters Bar, EN6 3BW at 8.30am. The coach will leave both pick up points at their respective times sharp. There will be a stop off point for refreshments at the Holiday Inn, Stoke-on-Trent, Clayton Road, Newcastle-Under-Lyme, Staffs ST5 4DL (Jct 15. M6). The coach will leave Liverpool after the game at 6.00pm returning to their original pick up points at Furzefield Sports Centre, then Edmonton Sports Club . anyone wishing to attend contact Ray Holmes please Regards Ray Holmes (LVP) It is with regret that I have to inform the readers that Mayfield FC have folded as a team with immediate effect (due to lack of commitment from its players) and have been removed from 1 North. Their playing record for season 2018/19 has been expunged and the division will now be one of just 9 teams.
Ian Andrews AFC Sec Have requested permission (received 14th October) to withdraw their 2nd xi from AFC Division - One South due to the manager/captain and majority of last seasons squad leaving . The AFC Fixtures Committee have agreed this, however with caveats on trophy winning for their lower 3rd xi. All results of matches played this season are now expunged and the division is now just 9 teams. Their lower team remains numbered as before
This is indeed a sad state for such a long serving club that like many other clubs , at present, it is a huge struggle to achieve player commitment . This is being looked at by the newly formed Club rep Committee under the leadership of Simon Goldring. Ian Andrews AFC Secretary Have requested permission (received 6th September) to withdraw their 2nd xi from AFC div Inter North due to the whole squad leaving (this was the merged ex Oakhill Tigers 1st xi) hence the whole squad. The AFC Fixtures Committee have agreed this, however with caveats on trophy winning for lower xi's. The result of match vs WGOB on 8th Sept is expunged and the division is now just 9 teams. All lower teams remain numbered as before
Ian Andrews AFC Secretary It is with much delight that I can confirm that Luke Graham of Old Meadonians has been named AFA Coach of the Year 2018. Luke has coached Old Meadonians 1st XI for the past few seasons and has also now taken over the running of the AFC Representative XI for this and coming seasons. Luke together with Ali McCombe will jointly oversee the rep team and hopefully take the team on the two year journey that will see us reach the Inter League Cup final in 2020.
Well done Luke I have to advise that due to lack of player commitment the above club have taken the decision to resign with immediate effect from the AFC and withdraw from the AFA & LOB Cup competitions. Teams drawn against Egbertian will be given walkovers to the next round. It is indeed very sad that a club that had 5 teams in 2015/16 should end up folding in just two seasons - a 91 year history lost to grassroots football. Hopefully things may change in the future and they can reform - only time will tell.
As Egbertian were in 2 North, the Fixture Committee will be tasked with urgently making a decision whether to promote one team from all divisions from 3 to 6 North, to ensure that each division is made up of at least 10 teams or leave 2 North with just 9 teams. Updates will follow in due course. Ian Andrews AFC Secretary From: John Monk <John.Monk@amateur-fa.com>
Sin Bin Presentation for AFC Clubc, Referees & Players Last season The FA first trialled the use of temporary suspensions (sin bins) in cases of dissent across a selection of league competitions up and down the Country. In the case of the AFA, the Southern Amateur League took part in the trial. This season the Amateur Football Combination are also going to be using sin bins and from season 2019/20 sin bins will be used in all grassroots competitions. Some referees have been keen to try out sin bins whilst others have expressed concern about their operation or effectiveness. There is no doubt that a wide variety of opinions exist on the subject. We are keen to support our referees by providing information and training and I am writing to invite you to attend a presentation about sin bins. We have set up dates and venues for four presentation sessions spread across the London area. I will be giving the presentation which has been put together by The FA. It covers: The Authority

John Monk AFA Football Administrator Tel. 0208 733 2613 (Option 3) The new season kicks off on Saturday 8th September 2018 for all Premier, Senior & Intermediate divisions. Divisions 1-7 North & 1-8 South kick off the following week 15th September.
Due to a number of northern clubs adding additional teams and in order to meet requests from some northern clubs the Fixtures Committee have revised the constitution that clubs were sent for the AGM. we have now added back a Division Seven North making only that division 11 teams and the rest 10 teams. The revised constitution is attached here :- afc_con_2018-19_v10_post_agm.xlsx Any queries with the constitution then please contact Ian Andrews/James Whitmarsh. Key Changes for 2018/19.
